Some of you may already be aware that my husband, Steve Pavlina, has written a book called Personal Development for Smart People. It was due for an October release but someone jumped the gun a little and we’ve been made aware that the book is now shipping at Amazon and is in some bookstores already.

Of course I’m a little biased, but this is a fabulous book because the principles Steve discusses can be applied to any area of your life, such as career, relationships, health, finances, and more. So instead of reading a book about relationships and reading another book about how to find the career that will make you happiest, you can get what you need from this book.

The three main principles in the book, Truth, Love and Power, can be used to derive the other four principles which are Oneness, Authority, Courage, and Intelligence. What I’ve found personally interesting is that when I’m doing an intuitive reading for one of my clients I will see which principle is causing them problems. For example, I read for many people who have outwardly successful careers (Power) but they hate their jobs (Love). I also read for people who are very in tune with Love and Truth, but can’t seem to accomplish their goals (Power) or who lack the Authority to get them moving in a direction that is better for themselves. And frequently I will encounter someone who is not aligned with Truth as they are in denial of an aspect of their lives they’re not ready to deal with yet.

Personal Development for Smart People contains interesting and insightful exercises you can do to increase your alignment with and understanding of the seven principles. I’ve done several of the exercises over the years, and I’m actually looking forward to trying out all of them at some point. I’ve always had breakthroughs in my own life when doing one of the exercises.

I think the book will be of real benefit to anyone who is seeking a tool for consciously crafting and creating their best life. I suggest reading it slowly to absorb each principle, or reading through it more quickly and then going back to study the areas you want to work on more intently.

You can read the first chapter online here.

Or you can order the book through Amazon.com. The book is on its way to bookstores, but there’s no telling whether your local bookstore has ordered copies yet or when they will arrive so right now Amazon.com might be the fastest way to get it.
