One of the questions I get asked all the time is, “Can a psychic reading change my future?”
It’s a fascinating question because it gets right to the heart of what a psychic reading actually is. Many people imagine that the future is already written, and that a psychic simply reads the script and tells you what’s going to happen.
That isn’t how I’ve come to understand it at all.
In my more than 30,000 readings over the past two decades, I’ve come to see the future as something much more fluid. It’s alive. It’s constantly responding to the choices we make, the opportunities we embrace, the lessons we learn, and even the perspectives we adopt.
The future is not a fixed destination. It’s a collection of possible paths.
Free Will Changes Everything
Imagine you’re standing at the entrance to a hiking trail.
One trail leads to a beautiful waterfall. Another ends at a scenic overlook. A third takes you deep into the forest where you’ll face a few difficult climbs before reaching an incredible view.
All of those destinations are available to you. Which one you eventually reach depends entirely on the choices you make along the way.
Life works much the same way.
Every decision you make nudges you onto a slightly different path. Sometimes the changes are dramatic. Sometimes they’re almost invisible. But every choice creates new possibilities while closing off others.
This is why I don’t believe the future is set in stone.
If it were, free will would be little more than an illusion.
Instead, I believe we are continually co-creating our lives alongside our spirit guides, our higher selves, and the people around us.
What Psychics Actually See
So if the future isn’t fixed, what exactly does a psychic see?
When I connect with someone’s guides, I often see the direction their life is heading if they continue making the same kinds of choices they’re making today.
Think of it like looking at the trajectory of a baseball after it’s been thrown. Based on its current direction, I can make a very good prediction about where it’s going to land.
But what if someone catches the ball?
What if the wind changes?
What if it hits a tree branch?
The trajectory changes.
Your life works the same way.
A psychic isn’t reading an unchangeable future. We’re reading probabilities, momentum, and likely outcomes based on your current path. We can see the trajectories.
Some trajectories are very strong because you’ve already made a series of decisions that point toward a particular outcome. Others are much more flexible because several different possibilities remain equally likely.
The Real Value of a Reading
This is why I think people sometimes misunderstand what a good psychic reading is supposed to accomplish.
It’s not about sitting back and being told what will happen to you.
It’s about understanding where your current path is leading and deciding whether that’s where you actually want to go.
If I tell a client, “I see a lucrative career opportunity coming if you continue developing this particular skill,” that doesn’t lock them into that future. It gives them information. Now they can intentionally strengthen that path.
Likewise, if I see that a relationship appears headed toward unnecessary conflict, that doesn’t mean the relationship is doomed.
It means the client now has an opportunity to communicate differently, heal old wounds, set healthier boundaries, or make whatever adjustments are needed to create a better outcome.
And your guides will tell you exactly what you need to say or do to increase the odds of creating a harmonious relationship.
That’s incredibly empowering.
Your Guides Aren’t Trying to Predict Your Life
I don’t think our guides are sitting on the other side watching a movie they’ve already seen.
They’re participating with us. They see possibilities we can’t yet see. They understand how today’s choices ripple into tomorrow’s experiences.
Their goal isn’t to hand us a script. Their goal is to help us make wiser decisions.
Sometimes they’ll point out opportunities we’re overlooking. Sometimes they’ll warn us about patterns that aren’t serving us. Sometimes they’ll simply reassure us that we’re moving in the right direction even when things temporarily feel difficult.
In every case, they’re helping us navigate, not controlling where we end up.
Creating Your Future
One of my favorite things about doing readings is watching clients consciously change the direction of their lives.
Someone leaves a toxic relationship. Someone finally starts the business they’ve been dreaming about. Someone chooses forgiveness instead of resentment. Someone stops settling for less than they deserve.
Months or years later they’ll write me and say, “You were right.” I always smile when I read those messages. Not because I accurately predicted the future. But because they chose it.
The reading didn’t create the outcome. Their decisions did. The reading simply gave them a clearer map.
The Future Is an Invitation
This is why I don’t think of psychic readings as fortune telling.
I think of them as strategic guidance.
Your guides can often see several moves farther down the road than you can. They can point out hidden opportunities, potential obstacles, and the choices most likely to lead where your soul truly wants to go.
But you’re still holding the steering wheel. And that’s wonderful news.
Because it means no prediction has to become your destiny. You are not trapped by your past. You are not limited by your present circumstances.
Every day, through your choices, your courage, and your willingness to grow, you’re helping write the next chapter of your life.
A psychic reading doesn’t hand you your future.
It helps you create a better one.
