Question: How often and for how long should I meditate for maximum benefit?
Answer: There is no right or wrong answer here. People meditate for differing lengths of time and in many different ways. It all depends on what you’re trying to achieve. I would say experiment with different types of meditation to see what works best for you.
If you are trying to center yourself and be in the now then you will do one type of meditation. If you are trying to communicate with your higher self or spirit guides you will do another type of meditation. If you want to communicate with your subconscious mind you will do a different meditation. If you are wanting to clear your chakras or prepare yourself for astral travel you’ll do yet another type of meditation.
I do a different meditation when I am doing readings versus when I am just wanting to connect with my higher self or guides. I end up meditating daily because of the work that I do, but if I wasn’t a psychic I would probably meditate whenever I felt the need and not on some rigid schedule. Yet I know people who meditate for 30 minutes every morning to clear themselves before they start their day. And I know people who prefer to meditate at night to clear their minds so they can sleep more peacefully. I know people who do a quick 5 minute chakra clearing each day, and others who spend an hour meditating or channeling. You can use a guided meditation CD or you can do your own unique style.
It’s really up to your own personal preference. But experiment a little to find out what works best for you.
