Health and Wellness: My Primary Personal Goal This Year

Health, fitness, and wellness is my primary personal goal this year, which means that at the end of this year I’d rather have made huge gains in this area than any other personal area of my life.  Do you have a primary personal goal for the year?  Over the years I’ve found that if you prioritize your goals it really helps you make decisions about how you will spend your time.  Just make a list of all the personal goals you have this year.  Then ask yourself this question: If you could only achieve one of those goals by the end

30-Day Raw Trial Post Mortem

I just finished my 30 day raw trial.  Boy did I learn a lot.  I am so glad I did a 30 day raw trial.  There’s no way I could have predicted the results I got without trying it for myself to see. Weight Loss I started the trial on December 2 at 198.6 pounds and on January 1 I weighed 192.0 pounds for a net loss of 6.6 pounds.  Not too bad.  Considering I didn’t count calories or fat grams, it’s clear that just being raw was enough for me to lose weight.  Although I did expect to lose

Going Raw Update – Day 28

Just three more days to go on my raw trial.  It’s hard to believe I’ve made it this far, and yet at the same time it was a lot easier than I ever expected.  Weight Loss Argh.  That’s all I have to say, so let me say it again.  Argh!  This morning I weighed 193.0.  Been there for weeks.  I’m not exactly sure what the issue is, but clearly I’m not experiencing the weight just fall off of me like I hear other people talk about.  I could understand if I only had 10 pounds to lose, but with so

Going Raw Update – Day 20

Just 10 days to go on this particular trial.  And the learning just keeps right on going… Lots of Advice I have received about 60 emails from various people all with ideas to help me lose weight on this diet.  I can’t think of two people who told me to try the same thing.  Interesting, no?  My weight loss journey has been one of trying to develop my own authority over my own health, and I think all the advice is reflective of showing me that no one is an authority over my body except me, and that I need

Going Raw for 30 Days

I’ve decided to do a 30-day trial on a raw diet.  I’m really excited by this challenge.  Three or four years ago I tried going raw for 30 days but stopped after a couple of weeks.  I know so much more about being raw now, thanks largely to Steve, the Rawkathon, and books I’ve read that Steve has given me.  My main motivation to do this trial is health and vitality. Health is an area of my life I simply have not mastered.  For many years I was very annoyed even owning a body.  It’s so high maintenance.  You gotta
